Had a manager from a department stroll into the office and reported he might have made a mistake opening up an email from a random gmail address that asked for gift cards for work and then the manager:

1. Stood up and went to 2 different conscience stores to buy the 1600 in gift cards
2. Obeyed instructions in the email to scratch off and reveal the PIN numbers
3. Use a phone to take pictures of the pins and then email the pins to the sender
4. Then provided the sender his mobile phone number

Then when the sender didn’t respond back, walks over to IT with the stack of gift cards and goes “uh I think I made a mistake”

This is in a org where there would obviously never be gift cards used for anything

Just truly struck how dumb this is. At no point did this manager ask anyone, just straight up goes to the stores and buys stacks and stacks of gift cards

Person that hacked Rockstar and released those earlier videos from GTA6 found to be a older teenager with autism, will be kept under indefinite hospital stay as was found unfit to be judged.

The jury was told that while he was on bail for hacking Nvidia and BT/EE and in police protection at a Travelodge hotel, he continued hacking and carried out his most infamous hack.

This will be my last shacknews post after 24 years coming here as I’m sure it’ll vanish but if you are still here reading this know that voodooraze was one of the best posters ever here and was an awesome part of this community.

I had no idea I had a stroke but here we are. I woke up Wednesday morning with a tiny blood blister in the corner of my left eye and I had a blind spot in the center of my vision only in the left eye. My peripheral vision was fine and I thought I had just blown a blood vessel in my eye or something. I went to urgent care that day and they gave me some drops and sent me on my way. I went and shot 8 ball on my league team that night and I understandably lost because I couldn't see shit out of my left eye.

I woke up the next morning and my vision was worse so I got in to an emergency ophthalmologist appointment and they did a litany of tests. The doc walked in to the room after testing and said "You snore - right?" and I was kinda taken aback by that question and answered "Yeah, I've snored my whole life."

She proceeded to explain to me that I had a sleep apnea attack on Wednesday and because the optic nerve only has one vein and one artery, the eyes are the first thing to get damaged if you get deprived of oxygen in your headmeat. The "blood blister" in my eye was actually a hemmorage from me choking or gasping while I had the attack. She said I had a mini stroke and I'm lucky I'm not dead, and she sees this happen way more often than she cares to admit.

Now I have acute ischemic retinal neuropathy in my left eye and I have no idea if my vision will ever be 100% again. Thankfully the blind spot in the center of my vision went away but my left eye is still fucked and it hurts all the time. It feels like I stared at an arc flash or a bright light in my left eye but my sight never adjusted back to normal.

The scariest part is that this could happen again and if it does, it will go after my right eye or just completely blind me if it doesn't kill me. Try thinking of that one while you're laying down to sleep at night. Please go get your sleep apnea checked out. This is the sign to do it. I never thought it would cripple me but here we are. I don't want any of you monkeys to go through the same thing so go get looked at if you snore.
