I generally don't post private stuff here, but, I need to vent.
We took our 5 year ridegback to the vet today because he's not been eating and been generally lethargic. After an ultra sound and ct scan and blood work, we find out he has a liver full of tumors and only a few days to live.
About 3 hours ago, my other ridgeback suddenly collapses on the floor and cant get up. We rushed her to the emergency vet and...
She has a large mass and blood in her abdomen. She's not going to make it through the night and my girls are on the way up there right now to say goodbye. I had to tell her goodbye in a crowded vet emergency room and can't even be there for the shot because someone has to be at home with the other dying dog.
All in one fucking day. I'm in shock and not in a good place. Hug your pets.

41 awwsSo my cat Junior passed away about an hour ago. It was unexpected, we took him to the vet to check on some laboured breathing. X-rays showed fluid around his lungs and heart, not uncommon given his history of heart disease (which we knew when we got him from the shelter two years ago). They prescribed some medication to help flush it out and shortly after they gave him his first dose he took a sharp turn for the worse and passed within minutes.
They figure the heart disease was significantly worse than anticipated and he would have had a few weeks at best regardless.

The last pictures I took of him (last night). He was the cuddiest and most affectionate cat I've ever known. -

She has a marshal costume for Halloween that she wore. It was a ton of fun!!

He’s only 5.5 lbs but healthy and easygoing. We’ve been watching Stargate SG1 and TNG together while his mom sleeps. I haven’t introduced him to Bal-Sagoth yet but that will come in time. -
