Haha, compromise? Reasoned thought? Let's talk about compromise and reason.

How about 8 years of a president getting shut down on every single god damned thing because it was R way or the highway.

How about not allowing a SC justice to be nominated for a full fucking year because it might not favor the right.

How about banning an entire religion from entering the country simply because they're afraid. Hey, remember when a child predator was supported for congress because he was an R?

Of course, who could forget the year of wailing about fucking e-mails, while at the same time that same group actively working with a hostile foreign government, which is apparently no big deal.

I mean, this shit goes on and on with republicans. They bitched about Obama not working with them when they stated almost day 1 that they were going to do everything to make him a one term president. And now it's democrats and the left who need to compromise more? Explain to me where compromising with a group that has that kind of mentality would do any good at all? GTFO with this shit.

first off, the notion that shack ladies are rough to new ladies is bullshit, frankly speaking. i'm sure that's a thing that happens, but even the fact it is said here and not refuted (i didn't want to refute it because i don't want to get shouted at) and the fact i feel that way is crazy.

the casual way we make fun of and deride women is shitty. whether it's creepy leering or creepy insults or to celebrities or to normal people, it's really off putting and disgusting. if it happened in the same veracity and velocity to men, i assure you, it would wear you down over the years. and you don't really actually get to refute this because you literally cannot experience it. and saying i'm being a victim or hyperbolic - which is done here frequently - is a reason for complaint.

reasons people have left: stalking, repeated gross comments in a sexual way, repeated gross comments in an abusive or threatening way, repeated mysognist or sexist comments (publicly and privately) about them.

remember when the mods banned porn and i got really upset because i thought that was literally the stupidest thing ever? all of the above was happening - and that's what's hateful towards women, not fucking porn. and, guess what, everyone got really upset about porn and all the hatefulness continued because, GUESS WHAT, it wasn't about porn.

a lot of the time, the shit that happens here isn't actually malicious. it's what i call benign sexism. people aren't bad people, but they do shit that's really crappy and amounts to a thousand tiny cuts that make people tired and say "why the fuck am i doing this" because it's shit you don't want to read, an environment you don't want to be around, and if you ever point it out, you get shit on or laughed at or told you are crazy or overly sensitive or a victim or on your period or a feminazi or a man hater or a SJW or whatever the fuck.

and so, pretty much across the board, after a couple years, women leave.

because fuck that.

i'm still here because i know there is a very small subsection of people who are actively trying to drive me out - and, protip to you half dozen people, the worse you are to me, the less likely i am to ever leave, because the worst shit you send my way can't hold a candle to what i've experienced, so good job doing the opposite. also, because i've had numerous people privately tell me never to leave, and they've made me promise to not make it public that they like me because our community is so fucked up and toxic that them liking me is something they don't want the general populace to know.

yes, dudes get fucking weird when i hold the door for them. it's not a lie. yes, i get jeered at just about every day on the street, and no, i'm not THAT hot. no, i don't hate men. no, i don't actually think everything if an offense on women. no, i don't look at every comment on this site as an attack on me.

if you wanted, i could point out in SM to you every time something happens on the shack that isn't THAT big a deal but will make women want to leave or think it's not worth it to post here. there's a huge swath of it that rates way, way, way below the shit that happens to me that annoys me.

if a place doesn't respect you or people like you, they usually aren't worth your time.

that's why we don't have women here.

How the Shack can help Jingletard

The TLDR version is that I've taken over Jingletard's case as his attorney and am working to get him a better deal than 3 years in prison.

The Shack can help by donating to a fund to help him fines and costs they owe. The failure to pay this is part of the reason why he is looking at 3 years. The State is also looking to revoke his wife’s probation due only to her failure to pay her share of these fines. This is a development of the last few days and ill be taking that case over too.

It's why every one of the pro-life attempts backfires horribly. Even when they succeed in what they set out to do, they never actually accomplish with it what is intended, because they ignore that constant.

I find it tiring that pragmatism and numbers mean nothing. That people will blindly cling to how they believe the world should be rather than take the world for how it actually is. This whole abortion argument would be a prime example. Anyone with half a brain can sit down and crunch the numbers. The world is a big place, with a lot of countries, that have tried to approach it in a lot of different ways, and there are people who collect that data. Outlawing abortion, or making it difficult to get one, does not, and has never worked. Not so much as a dent. What it has done is increased the number of infanticide. What it has done is killed women who went to have an abortion regardless.

Outlawing abortions does not save lives. It kills women and babies.

Another example of how the road to hell is paved with the best of deluded intentions would be prosecuting women who don't take care of themselves, who are malnourished, or addicted, which seems to be a thing now. It does nothing to improve conditions for the unborn, it keeps women away from doctors who might actually be able to do some good. How can cause and effect be so freaking hard to grasp.

Not only women fall victim to this idiocy of trying to work against rather than with human nature, of trying to legislate subjective morality rather than deal with reality. Sex education, more specifically abstinence only sex education makes victims of children in so many ways. I wish I would see someone in politics bring forth the cause and effect argument that becomes clear when you look at the child sexual abuse cases. 1 in 6 children, and 1 in 4 young adults, and there is a lot to be learned from those cases. Especially that when you teach a child about sex at an early age, when you teach them what is appropriate and what not, in an age appropriate fashion, then when something goes on at home, when they're abused, they are much more likely to speak up about it. If sex is shameful and secret, then so is sexual abuse. It locks in the self destructive and silencing cycle of shame. And if that by itself wasn't enough, most abstinence-only programs teach girls that they are temptresses, at fault if they trigger uncontrollable male urges through their behavior. It's infuriatingly obvious to me, the damage this does.

Abstinence only education achieves nothing what it sets out to do, nothing, but it does serve the interests of those that would sexually abuse the young and inexperienced. I want to see them, those in support of this type of education, argue the morality of supporting the rape of children for once, let them face and be shamed by the real world consequences of their actions.
