YOU BETCHA
Ingredients:
1lb ground lamb (or beef if you're making Cowboy Pie)
1 large sweet onion
1 large carrot
2 garlic cloves
3 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbs. tomato puree
1 handful fresh thyme (just the leaves)
1 sprig fresh rosemary (needles chopped)
9oz red wine (I like a slightly sweet wine)
11oz chicken stock
olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Additions: (I like to add extra flavors in my Shepard's pie but this step isn't necessary)
1 can of sweet corn, drained
1 cup mushrooms, roughly chopped
(You'll need mashed potatoes so prepare those how you prefer)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350
Heat olive oil in a pan until hot
Season the lamb and brown in the oil over moderate to high heat for 2-3 minutes or so.
Grate the onions, carrot and garlic into the lamb. (I do a rustic chop of half the onions and carrot and grate the rest because I like to see bits of vegetables in my Shepard's pie.)
Add the Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree, thyme leaves and needles of chopped rosemary and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour in the red wine and reduce until almost completely evaporated.
Add chicken stock and bring to a simmer until it's as thick as you prefer.
Spoon it all into a oven safe dish/pan and top with your mashed potatoes.
Grate some Parmesan over the mashed potatoes and "fork" it to create some rough peaks in the potatoes so that they get brown and crispy easier.
Bake for about 20 min or until the potatoes are golden/crispy.
ENJOY

18 tagsGearing Pro-tips (reposted)
Gearing strategies in Loot 2.0 are the same as they were before. Here is a quick refresher / general guide for anyone with some confusion:
General Stat Priority: Crit Chance > Attack Speed > Crit Dmg > Primary Stat > Health Stats > Avg Dmg > All Resist > Armor
Notes: Primary Stat = Strength, Int, Dex. Main Stats = Primary Stat + Vitality or Life %
Main or 2-Handed Weapon - High DPS, Primary Stat, a Socket (very important). Built in Attack Speed or Critical Hit Damage a huge plus.
Off-hand Weapon - Same rules as Main-hand but you want the offhand to be fast. This means faster weapons and built in attack speed.
Off-hand non-weapon: Quivers: High dex, 15%+ attack speed, Crit hit Chance (preferably 8%+) Source / Mojo: High Avg-Dmg (100-400 being really good), High Int, Crit Chance.
Helmet - High main stats, socket, all resist.
Shoulders - High main stats, all resist, armor
Chest - High main stats, 3 sockets, all resist, armor
Belt - High main stats, all resist / armor, attack speed
Pants - High main stats, 2 sockets, armor, all resist
Boots - High main stats, all resist / armor, 10%+ move speed
Gloves - High Primary stat, 8%+ Crit Chance, 6%+ Attack Speed, Crit Hit Damage.
Bracers - Primary stat, all resist, 5%+ Crit chance
Rings - Primary stat, 4%+ Crit Chance, 6%+ attack speed, Crit damage, Avg-Damage
Amulet - Primary stat, 8%+ Crit Chance, 75%+ Crit Damage, Attack speed.
Some specs may not want attack speed, but this is the exception not the rule.
Loot 2.0 is nice, getting legendaries is nice, but understanding that even with 2.0 the vast majority of drops are still pretty bad will help a ton.
Pieces of gear with really high Primary and Vitality rolls give the illusion of being good but without the secondary stats they usually won't be (on applicable pieces).

18 tagsPeople who like building cities.
Repost and continuation from yesterday's thread about our old friend, Transport Tycoon Delux. Fortunately, this game is free now with the openttd project.
http://www.openttd.org/en/
If you don't know about TTD, it's a game where the player acts an entrepreneur in control of a transport company, and can compete against rival companies to make as much profit as possible by transporting passengers and various goods by road, rail, sea and air.
The game has come a long way from the original TTD, giving it robust online play, mods that change sound/music/graphics/goals, and a browse-able mod list inside the game. That's right you can browse/search for mods in the game, download and install them without even restarting.
I will be playing on a city builder server.
My stream: www.twitch.tv/snowjew
If you would like to join me, you are welcome to grab the game and hop on my team! Yes, that's right. You can play co-op with multiple people in one company. Or play separate companies and screw over your competitors!
