47 infsSitting at the hospital waiting for my wife to go into surgery. Have my steam deck and my programming projects for a distraction so I’m set.
My wife said that this morning she is a colon, by tonight she’ll be semicolon. Hopefully she’ll also be cancer free. Wish us well! -
47 infsAs far as the narrow scope of the trial goes, the verdict is not exactly extraordinary. Most of the anger comes from looking at the situation as a whole. Fairly or not, Rittenhouse now stands as a signpost in our collective national consciousness of how it's possible to do something that is almost completely reckless and immoral while escaping on narrow legal technicalities. In an era in which we've been hyper-focused on the analysis of behavior undertaken by black men when in similar confrontations, and seeing how those scenarios often play out, Rittenhouse's acquittal stings even more harshly.
To those of us who think his very presence there was the primary instigating factor, and I'm one of them, this verdict blows, even if it's a defensible verdict based on the confines of the trial. It's a moral objection to the outcome, not a legal one. -

47 infsJust thought I'd drop by here to say I'm the inventor of Nanite. It's not bullshit. I've been researching this for a decade and working on it for 3+ years. Been a proud day. Phone's been blowing up but I thought I'd stop by the shack and say hi.

47 infsI know people sit on you a lot here, but I just want to say thank you for making these threads. Both my parents are elderly, and my dad's ALS puts him significantly more at risk with covid, so it's nice having one place I can go to see a whole bunch of different news sources about the pandemic.

47 infsI gotta say, it kills me a little bit every time a Shack thread exists just to make fun of some people for doing their thing.

47 infsWOMEN'S MARCH
I'm sitting at a train station in Manayunk heading into Center City for the Women's March on Philadelphia. I'm marching to support funding for Planned Parenthood and for women's equal pay, health care and right to choose.
Use this thread to share your pictures, experiences and thoughts about the marches happening around the country.
