12 wowsMy ridiculously talented wife. It wrecks the entire kitchen for her to do this stuff, but there's no denying how talented she is with this stuff. She doesn't think she's ready for competition level stuff given the other cookie experts she follows. I think she probably needs more practice to come up with designs and techniques on her own to gain that confidence. Then again, putting your self in that kind of pressure like a competition is how you can grow past your limits too.

No, she can't ship. She's working under Texas Cottage Laws so some portion of the transaction has to happen in person. She thinks she'd like to open a bakery, but the reality is a traditional bakery requires things that can be mass produced. I'm not sure if she's thinking more like this kind of place that's specializes in high-end stuff: https://bronwencakes.com/ Or if she's thinking more like https://sprinkles.com/ I think her heart is probably closer to the custom design stuff, which doesn't lend itself to a traditional bakery and storefront.
Anyways, she's super talented and I'm so proud of her. Even if it does wreck the kitchen for every order. -

12 wowsThat sucks. I'll find out what I owe in a few weeks. I was rushed to ER via ambulance when I fell 14ft off a ladder last Tuesday at my home. I landed on my back and was knocked unconscious. Local ER could not care for me so I was transferred to a big city hospital that had a trauma center that could handle head injuries. They were going to air lift me there but the weather was bad so I was transported via ambulance. Long story short - I have no broken bones but I did have a severe concussion with a subarachnoid hemorrhage on the frontal lobe. I spent 3 nights in the hospital but I'm home now and on anti seizure meds (precautionary). I am expected to make a full recovery. I was really lucky this time.

Moms a respiratory therapist, dads an electronics engineer. They're both highly intelligent. We had 14 deaths here since 10am. They wear masks when required, otherwise they go without. Recently my mom has been talking about partical sizes and co2 buildup.
Her cousin died last month of covid.
I can handle my redneck boss. I can handle the redneck customers. I can handle the teens that push past the greeters at target. I can handle being just me and my partner in our safe apartment for the past six months.
My parents inviting me to a restaurant because it's "really no big deal" broke me today.
