Hey shacknews, if you could send some good vibes toward Jean-Luc the kitty please do.

He came into my office this afternoon and laid down in a weird spot, was mouth breathing, and then peed everywhere. I rushed him to the pet ER and he has heart failure. We take him to the vet for annual check ups and take good care of him, and it’s just one of those random bad things.

They are going to treat him and there’s the possibility that he might be able to come home for awhile but the prognosis is poor. I signed a DNR before leaving the ER.

I work from home so he’s always here hanging out with me. He sleeps in my office all day. So I feel pretty terrible :(

My mom has passed. Maybe heart attack or something like that.

Loads of fun finding her...must have not been too long ago, though.

I just want to sit here and be depressed for awhile, but I've got a lot of stuff to deal with.

New Cat!!!

So for a while Iv been planning on getting another cat. It came down to being between a Bengal or a Siamese as I wanted a really cool looking cat to compliment my already very handsome all white/blue eye boy. Every pet Iv ever had was a 'I found this guy behind a dumpster half dead' situation and this time I wanted it to be different. I wanted to go find the animal I wanted and did just that and I dont feel guilty about that at all.
So about a month ago I go pick this new guy up put him in the carrier and drive 2 hours home and start prepping the safe room. All the while my other cat realized there was something interesting in the carrier sat in front of it for about a minute and let out the loudest hiss Iv ever herd. I quickly take the kitten to the safe room and open the carrier. He wants nothing to do with me. He even hissed at me and if you ever herd a small kitten hiss its actually pretty funny.
Over the last month Iv been through the introduction process and looking back I think it could have gone alot faster but I just wanted everything to work out. Last night was the first night I let him stay out rather than go in the safe room and then this morning was the first morning I figured might as well let him free while Im at work as well. Also last night I named him......
