Just started season 2 of battle star galactica in my rewatch. And man…
The thing that gets me about this show is how good the script, characters, pacing, tension, music, space battles, etc are. It’s a brilliantly executed show in so many ways.
But then there’s the plot. Fingering Dorral as a Cylon was an astronomically lucky guess, then a cylon detector is impossible, then it is but it’s instantaneous, then it takes 11 hours per sample, and no one can help Gaius with for some reason.
Then there’s a god the cylons won’t shut up about, and prophecy, and spiritual/prophetic visions, and hybrid babies. There’s a McMuffin artifact that was on Caprica the whole time, which is where S1 started, which they can get back to in a single jump in a tiny cylon fighter despite traveling away from that place for 15 episodes. And if I recall, this weirdness only get worse from here.
It’s crazy how the episodes are so good and the arcs and plot is so, I dunno, haphazard?
