We made a last second decision to drive 2 hours to a friend’s place to try to get out from the clouds and for once it paid off. My hometown had a total bust due to clouds but we had good views off and on leading up to totality and then it seemed like the clouds parted and we had an amazing view of the corona for pretty much the whole duration. We drove 2.5 hours southwest of Toronto to Turkey Point Beach to get the eclipse. We got lucky and cloud cover broke as the total eclipse happened. Well worth the trip.
