Watch the Call of Duty: WWII Reveal Right Here
Yeah, the name is silly, but there might be some good information about the new game.
The next installment in the Call of Duty franchise has been announced - with a really unimaginative name. But we know there will be some new information coming in today's Call of Duty: WWII livestream, and that likely makes it worth seeing.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, featuring Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield of developer Sledgehammer Games. We aren't sure what they will divulge exactly, except that the game is going back to its roots of a World War 2 setting. But maybe they will at least confirm the release date of November 3 that leaked a few days ago.
So tune in for the news. Maybe we'll get lucky and they were actually trolling us with the name.

Before they "reveal", what is something that would make you interested in this series again? For me, setting adds flavor but is definitely secondary. They need to change up the formula in some way.
Some personal things that I always gripe about:
1) Bring back persistent servers with a browser. They help develop communities with whom you can play vs forming parties to join games.
2) Stop fragmenting the community via game type / DLC.
3) Change up the map types- the traditional 3 lane symmetrical maps get old.
4) Make Objective Cool Again!
5) Increase TTK slightly so it's not paper rock scissors of who sees whom first.
But further than that, I actually like the level grind in these games. Unlocking guns and attachments and whatnot is simply fun sometimes and I like the short match style play.-
1) Consoles don't like that and PC is a pathetically insignificant part of their sales.
2) Again. DLC isn't a problem on console, you bug your 3 friends you group up with the buy the DLC if you want to play it. Only on PC where we had groups of 20 people wanting to play together did it get obnoxious. Look at BF's solution to it with the Premium Friends thing. Clearly their marketing research says groups of 3-4 friends is all that matters. Every design decision in the last 10 years for FPS communities seems to follow this concept.
3). Sure.
4.) Good luck with that. Was it ever cool? Most the FPS people on this site come from a Deathmatch background. Personally I agree and would always prefer even CTF over deathmatch, but that doesn't seem to be the preference of the masses. Even Battlefield has issues with populating gametype that isn't just glorified deathmatch in a sandbox.
5.) Console v. PC again. I really wonder what the difference in TTK between the platforms is. With our ability to...aim...using a mouse, I think the TTK on PC is always lower. As long as they don't balance it around PC it is going to be like this. BF has the same problem, but they lean a little bit higher. The result, explosive spam has become a real problem because even gimped as they are, they are so much more effective than shooting quite often.
