Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Trailer Leaks Ahead of Weekend Celebration
Lots of familiar faces from the new movies and the old, but told from the Empire's side.
New information on Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was supposed to be coming during this weekend's Star Wars Celebration, but someone has jumped the planetkiller weapon and the new trailer has hit Imperial Space a few days early. And even though it's short, we get to see some interesting tidbits.
The opening shows the Death Star exploding over Endor, and Imperial troops being exhorted to "Avenge our Emperor" by what appears to be and an officer on Endor who saw the Death Star's demise first hand. Text talks about the untold soldier's story, so she could be the new protagonist in the promised single-player campaign.
There will be multiplayer battles, which could include Hoth and Starkiller Base. We also get glimpses of heroes and villains spanning across all eras, including Darth Maul, Yoda, Rey and Kylo Ren. There could be more space battles as well, based on the footage, which makes sense after the Rogue One Scarif DLC for the first game included space combat.
No matter how you carve it with a lightsaber, it looks promising. Hopefully, we'll get more concrete details from the planned panel discussion on the game this weekend. If you can't be at the event, there will be hands-on time coming at EA Play around E3 this year.
