Destiny 2 Finally Has an Official Release Date, Confirmed for PC
Prepare for a big loot drop in September, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
We still haven't gotten an official look at gameplay from Destiny 2, but at least we know when it's coming. Bungie announced a release date of September 8, and released a new cinematic trailer to boot. And yes, this time, it's coming to PC.
The trailer below shows two very different approaches to rallying the troops, following a devastating attack that has apparently robbed the Guardians of their City. It and the release date announcement will have to hold us for a while, though, because the trailer shows no gameplay footage at all. The first glimpse of that will be on May 18, with a livestream, so sit tight for the next month and a half.
In a press release, Bungie and Activision confirmed that Destiny 2 will bring the series to the PC for the first time. An Expansion Pass Bundle with the game will be available for $89.99, and a Digital Deluxe edition with some extra goodies will be $99.99. The Collector's Edition, including the expansion, a wearable Frontier Bag, and the Cabal Collector's Box, will retail for $249.99.
The trailer does feature Cayde-6, following a teaser video for today's announcement. This also confirms an earlier leak from an Italian retailer, which had shown promotional material with the September 8 date.
