Mass Effect: Andromeda - How to Romance Your Favorite NPCs
It's all about being a flirt and that works in any galaxy.
BioWare always likes to add a romantic layer to its RPGs, and the Mass Effect series is part of that. Interspecies, interracial, same sex are all the same: It's about passion and titillation. Mass Effect: Andromeda is no different, as sex and romance is played the same way no matter what galaxy you are in. The key is knowing how to flirt, and then offering the appropriate responses needed to get a reaction. So here's a quick guide on how to do it and who you can do it with.
Let the Flirting Begin
BioWare hasn't changed the romance rules, despite the new setting and characters. Once you have built up a rapport with certain NPCs, new conversation options will open up. If you use them properly, the relationship will get under way. You will be playing either the male or female Ryder twin, and while most characters will be open to a relationship with either, a few are pretty picky, wanting only one or the other.
If you are playing the male Ryder, your choices include: Avela, Cora, Gil, Keri, Peebee, Reyes Vidal, and Vetra.
The choices for the female Ryder twin are: Jaal, Keri, Liam, Peebee, Reyes Vidal, Suvi, and Vetra
Pointers for a Good Romance
Mass Effect: Andromeda uses loyalty missions to build relationships with certain cast members, so you will need to complete those before ever hoping to get to first base. You will need to flirt with others at least three times before getting any type of response. As with any relationship, frequent conversation is key, doing it early and often after you meet them.
Also, follow the whims of your intended target for romance, doing whatever they request. You have to make them feel special, so reading every message they send is important, especially if there are cues that will lead to starting the relationship. Always flirt when you get the chance.
Don't be a player. Focus on only a couple of characters to romance, as each has a different number of things that are needed to actually trigger a response from them. Going after everyone will make it too hard to follow through when an actual trigger happens.
