We were expecting some sort of Injustice 2 announcment today, and we get it in the form of a new playable character, Black Canary. The reveal makes her the 16th DC hero confirmed for the upcoming game, scheduled for release on May 16.

The character, which is the alter ego of Dinah Drake, has not had too many appearcance is games. She has appeared playable previously in Justice League Heroes for PlayStation Portable and Batman: the Brave and the Bold (based on the cartoon series) for Wii and DS. She has made cameos in DC Universe Online, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and Young Justice: Legacy.

Her signature superpower is a "Canary Cry," a supersonic scream that has been shown used as a weapon or even granting her the ability to glide. Like most DC superheroes, she's also a martial arts expert.

When released, the game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Pre-ordering the game will get Darkseid as a bonus. Also skins will be available to transform certain characters into new ones.
