Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin coming to PlayStation VR in late February
It's not Psychonauts 2, but an all new story specifically for VR.
It's been 10 years since we had anything from Psychonauts, so Double Fine has created Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin as an all-new standalone chapter for PlayStation VR coming February 21.
To be clear, we are not being graced with Psychonauts 2, but with the popularity of VR, being able to walk around in the Psychonauts universe is an interesting concept. Players will take on the role of Raz as a full member of the Psychonauts team. He will have the powers of clairvoyance, telekinesis and Pyrokinesis to get through the missions.
As for the story, it picks up from the end of Psychonauts "with Raz, Lili, Sasha, Milla, and Coach Oleander flying off to rescue Truman Zannotto, the Grand Head of the Psychonauts. Their mission takes them straight into the heart of the Rhombus of Ruin — a mysterious part of the ocean as deadly as two Bermuda Triangles back to back." said James Spafford , Double Fine's community manager, wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
Check out the 360-degree trailer released for the game to get an idea of what the VR experience will be like. Steve saw a short demo of it at E3 and was intrigued.
