Rocket League dev Psyonix unsure about a version for the Nintendo Switch
The company is excited about the handheld console, though.
Rocket League has been a huge success on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, so will the title make its way to Nintendo Switch once it debuts on March 3? Maybe.
Fans apparently have been emailing developer Psyonix about the possibility of port for the game, and have been getting a pretty much canned response. "We are excited as you are regarding the release of Nintendo Switch however, we don’t have enough information at this time if it will happen. For the mean time, let’s both keep our fingers crossed that it will," a customer support email from the company said.
This is not the first time that Psyonix has expressed interest in the handheld-cosole hybrid. At E3 last year, Psyonix's Jeremy Dunham said that the company considers all new platforms and the viability of the game on it. When asked if the company would support the Switch (at the time, still called NX), he told Gamingbolt: "Could we do it? Should we do it? And does the community want us to do it? Those are all things we have to consider, and if the answers are positive, then we would."
It definitely appears there is some fan support for the idea, as a change.org petition is ongoing. As Psyonix said, let's keep our fingers crossed that it will happen.

Even the PC handheld GPD Win plays Rocket League. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCqanQsdr4I&t=50s
It should run a bit better on the Switch -
Sounds like an awesome idea but I'm wondering how the new Nintendo network stuff works. I've never been too impressed with Nintendo's multiplayer. I guess MK8 and Splatoon did well enough. Seems like cross-play would be critical and it would set a great precedent for Nintendo to have a strong cross-play title early on.
