New Ark: Survival Evolved Update Adds Creatures, Underwater Caves to PlayStation 4, Xbox One
A free content update on consoles has introduced new elements to the prehistoric survival game.
Prehistoric survival sim ARK: Survival Evolved is getting a free content update for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Introducing new beasts and underwater environments, this update will put the console versions of the game on par with that of the PC.
Five new creatures--the Cnidaria Omnimorph, Troodon Magnanimus, Pegomastax Fructurator, Tusoteuthis Vampyrus, and Therizinosauraus Multiensis--will be available in the update, as well as two all-new “full-scale” underwater caves containing artifacts and objectives. See it in action in the trailer below:
Additionally, PS4 users will have access to procedurally generated maps that create entirely new game worlds in which to play. This update is now available free of charge for any console players who own the game.
ARK: Survival Evolved is currently in development as an Early Access game on Steam and the PlayStation 4, and is available as part of the ID@Xbox program. Its mod capabilities recently came under fire as a DMCA was issued against a prominent mod that changed the in-game creatures into Pokemon.
