Splatoon 2 To Release in Summer 2017 on Nintendo Switch
New weapons, new stages, and new battles await you in Splatoon 2 for the Nintendo Switch.
During their Nintendo Switch reveal event, a brand new sequel to the 2014 team-based competitive game Splatoon was announced. Splatoon 2 features will bring all the ink-slinging action of the original title with a ton of new features.
In Splatoon 2, you can fight with new weapons like the Splat Dualies that will let you perform a new Dodge Roll move. Old favorites like the Splat Roller and Splat Charger have been modified to include brand-new ways to play. There are also new special weapons which take advantage of the new control possibilities the Joy-Con and Pro controllers bring.
Nintendo has announced that they'll be supporting Splatoon 2 just like they supported the first Splatoon. Updates and new content will continue to be added to the game post-launch.
For the first time, players can engage each other in 4 vs. 4 Turf War battles on local and online multiplayer using the JoyCon controllers and the Switch Pro Controller. Splatoon 2 will also support the upcoming Nintendo Switch online service app which will facilitate matchmaking and voice chat.
Splatoon 2 will release for Nintendo Switch some time in Summer 2017 for $59.99.
