Hitman's season finale sets its sights on Japan on October 31
Hitman: Episode 6 will take Agent 47 to Hokkaido, Japan as he's hunting two new targets for its big season finale.
Square Enix and IO Interactive have announced the Season Finale of Hitman will take place on October 31 as Agent 47 will reach his final destination: Hokkaido, Japan.
Agent 47 will need to proceed with caution through the extremely exclusive GAMA private hospital and resort as he needs to locate two targets. The facility is completely secluded and combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with cutting-edge technology, which includes its own Zen garden, an organic sushi restaurant, and a Japanese hot spring.
Hitman’s sixth episode will feature the “Situs Inversus” mission, which IO Interactive only mentions the number of targets, but makes no mention of who they are or why they're being hunted. The Hokkaido locale will also be used for Escalation Contracts, Elusive Targets, and Featured Contracts. Would-be assassins should also expect the usual lineup of weapon and gear unlockables that can be used across all locations.
While this marks the end of the first season of Hitman, it’s apparent IO Interactive has more planned for the series. ““It was a brave decision to go fully digital episodic with Hitman, fundamentally changing how we make the game, and for us it has been a major success,” says IO Interactive studio head Hannes Seifert. “... although we’re now completing season one, this is only the beginning for our ever expanding World of Assassination.”
The first episode of Hitman debuted back in March after the title received quite the lengthy delay and changing to an episodic model. Since then, we’ve followed Agent 47 across various locations, including Sapienza, Marrakesh, Thailand, Colorado, and soon, Hokkaido. It’s been quite an adventure, which we’re sure those of you who are waiting for its retail version are looking forward to.
