Playstation 4 software update 4.0 coming on Sept. 13 with folders, PS4 Pro support, and more
There's a lot going on with tomorrow's update, which includes support for Folders, PlayStation 4 Pro support, and more.
After spending much of the Summer in beta, the long-awaited release of the PlayStation 4’s Software Update 4.00 is coming tomorrow, Sony has confirmed.
As you’d expect from a major update, Sony is rolling out a number of new features PlayStation 4 owners can begin enjoying as early as tomorrow. These include instant access to your music library via the new Quick Menu option, updates to better support the PlayStation 4 Pro, and support for High Dynamic Range. Folder support is also finally coming to software update 4.00.
The 4.00 software update also features a redesigned What’s New section which now includes more information on what your friends have been doing on their console. The left section will show a larger Activity Feed, while the right column has designated areas for Now Playing, Trending, Players You May Know, and Who to Follow. The Content Info screen has also received a similar graphical overhaul.
Since the PlayStation 4 Pro is just a few months away from release, Sony is making it easier to transfer data from one console to another by supporting wired LAN connections. Using a wired connection, PS4 owners can transfer games, user info, and saved data from one console to another.
