Red Dead Redemption Remastered rumored for PC, PS4, and Xbox One
We reckon' you're going to want to mosey on over to the watering hole to listen to this tall tale.
Rockstar Games has been aware PC gamers want their own version of Red Dead Redemption for several years now, and a new rumor has popped up that claims we’ll not only be seeing the game on PC, but on new consoles as well.
Korean games publication Game Focus is reporting on a rumor that a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption may be announced during Sony’s PlayStation Meeting event taking place on Wednesday. The site doesn’t expect the game to be released as soon as it’s announced, but instead would be released in the first half of 2017.
While we would love for this rumor to be true, we can’t imagine Rockstar Games working on a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption shortly after working with Microsoft to make its Xbox 360 version compatible with the Xbox One. Although on the other hand, there’s a completely untapped market on both PlayStation 4 and PC as neither are able to play Red Dead Redemption at the moment.
While the world drools at the prospect of a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption, we’ll be over here hoping to hear more about Red Dead Redemption 2.

I always heard that there was more to the lack of a remaster and/or PC port than just lack of interest. Like it would be a major undertaking because production of the original game was a disaster and the code is such a mess that it would essentially be like recreating the game to do a "simple port".

Rockstar San Diego doesn't really do PC versions and supposedly they never considered it.

I also heard their fork of the RAGE engine was an abominable hack to get the features and world size into PS3 memory. -
