No Man's Sky will not need PS Plus membership to play
The universe is so vast that you may never see anyone else.
Usually to play with friends on console, you need to sign up for the associated membership with its usual monthly fees. Even though No Man's Sky for PlayStation 4 will let you play with friends, it appears that the vast space sim won't need PS Plus to play.
"Just confirmed with Sony: you don't need PS Plus to play No Man's Sky online," Game Informer Australia's David Milner said in a tweet. The game is even listed as a single-player game on Steam and the PlayStation Store. Some folks had been confused about whether PS Plus would be needed or not.
Hello Games has said the universe for No man's Sky will be immense, so while you will be able to play with friends for free in the game, you will still need to find them first. The game launches on PS4 and PC on August 9.
