Apple's iPhone 7 release date possibly leaked
If this information turns out to be true, we could be looking at a mid-September release for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
Infamous tech-industry leaker, Evan Blass, has revealed the iPhone 7 is expected to release during the week of September 12, possibly on Friday, September 16.
Blass, or @evleaks as he’s known on Twitter, has a long history of leaking mobile and tech secrets and surprises, which includes recent leaks for the Samsung Galaxy Note7, the OnePlus 3, and new variants of the HTC 10.
In his latest leak, he clarifies the week of September 12 possible launch for the iPhone 7 refers to its retail release, and not Apple’s upcoming launch event. Apple tends to hold its launch event for new iPhones the week prior to their launch, so we should expect the company to unveil its new phones the week of September 5.
Yes -- we said new “phones” as Blass also believes we’ll be hearing about two new iPhones this year, which are codenamed Sonora and Dos Palos. If we had to make any guesses, we’d guess these phones would include an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Apple announced its 4-inch iPhone SE earlier this year, so this Fall would be the best time for the company to release its official follow up to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. With Apple's quarter ending earlier this year than it did in the past, on September 24, this should also hint at the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus' release. Launching them a week prior to Apple's ending its quarter would be a great time.

I've taken a lot of 4k video with my iphone SE and outside in daylight, it's a glorious thing. So sharp. All of the phones that shoot 4k run at about 50mbit though, which makes the image suffer from compression artifacts rather quickly when you move to low light. It's stunning when you're in daylight though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4qAADCFvKc
