A 19-year-old girl discovered a body floating in Wind River near Riverton, Wyoming, while playing Pokémon Go earlier this morning (via County 10).
Shayla Wiggins woke up bright and early to hunt down pocket monsters in Riverton, explaining to County 10 news reporters that the area where she's living with her mom for the summer teems with them. She wanted to capture a Pokémon from a natural water resource, which led her to Wind River behind her mom's house.
"I was walking towards the bridge along the shore when I saw something in the water. I had to take a second look and I realized it was a body," she told County 10.
Wiggins noticed a man-sized shape floating approximately three feet from the shore. She wasn't able to identify the object until she recognized a black shirt and black pants conforming to the shape. That's when she called 911 and waited for authorities to arrive.
"The death appears to be accidental in nature and possibly that of a drowning," a representative of the Fremont County Sheriff's Office told reporters. "There is no evidence at this time that would indicate foul play. Evidence located at the scene has led investigators to believe the man went into the water at the location he was found."
