Overwatch's Torbjorn gets turret nerf in a few weeks
Torbjorn's turrets appear to be too much for some players, which is why Blizzard will be nerfing the ability in an upcoming update.
Overwatch’s master of the turret, Torbjorn, will soon have one of his most important weapons nerfed.
Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan announced Torbjorn’s upcoming nerf via a Reddit thread where players were complaining about his use ruining the player’s experience on consoles. “In an upcoming patch, we will reduce the damage done by Torbjorn's turret by 30% on Xbox One and PS4. PC will remain unchanged,” Kaplan said in the thread.
As for when console players can expect the nerf to kick in, Kaplan says players should expect changes to take place around mid- to late-July.
Torbjorn is a character who squarely focuses on defense, making him quite the adversary if you’re on the attacking team. He’s able to use a rivet gun as his primary attack, and a hammer for close-range bludgeonings. His most effective weapon is the use of a upgradable turrets, although it appears it’ll be less effective on consoles next month.

Because it does fucking garbage damage and many classes can kill it with very, very little trouble? Torb is supposed to be a counter to specific classes via the fact that his turret aims so well (eg: Tracer). Taking that away from him would make him basically worthless. Try playing Torb one time against a team that actually plays well and you will find that it's nearly impossible to keep a turret up and very frustrating and difficult to be effective with.
