E3 2016: Titanfall 2 post-launch maps and game modes will be free

No longer will you have to play a divided multiplayer experience!

EA and Respawn Entertainment dropped some more Titanfall 2 info on players yesterday during its E3 presentation. We were finally shown some single-player campaign footage and caught a glimpse of its Collector’s Edition, which will retail for $250. Considering how much money Titanfall fans are prepared to drop on its sequel, it’s great to hear all of its map packs will be available for free.

Respawn Entertainment’s head of development David Wightman confirmed to GamesRadar the studio has no plans to charge players for new maps or game modes once Titanfall 2 is released. "We'll definitely be supporting Titanfall 2 post-launch, and I can confirm all maps and modes we deliver post-launch will be free.”

Offering new maps and game modes for free will help the Titanfall community from being divided, which is what tends to happen when shooters introduce paid DLC for its multiplayer modes. How exactly Respawn and EA will earn money post launch is still unknown at this time, but as long as it doesn’t include charging for new maps or modes, then we’re pleased.
