E3 2016: Watch the Microsoft Press Briefing livestream here
It begins at 9:30 a.m. PDT / 12:30 p.m. EDT
As usual, Microsoft is kicking of the "official" press conference festivities the day before E3 begins, and you can watch all of the news as it happens right here.
Microsoft has already had a series of "leaks" that may derail some of the surprises, such as the new Xbox One Slim (and it's cheaper price point), the Halo Wars 2 beta, Dead Rising 4 images, and a ReCore release date. But Microsoft undoubtedly has much more up its sleeve, with rumors circulating of a new Forza, Final Fantasy XV, the Last Guardian and The Division Underground making appearances.
Whatever happens, we'll be watching the stream with you, so watch for the news has it happens. It will be a long day.

Who would buy it at that price point? If you're willing to spend that kind of scratch on a console you almost certainly have a vr ready pc already.
The have to get it under 600 for people to buy it. Maybe even 500.
We already saw what happened when a console tries to justify a high price for better graphics *cough* ps3 *cough* -

No I don't think it will be. That performance is just a little bit better than what you get with the AMD 480 which is a $200 card. And since Scorpio will presumably be built on Polaris/Zen then I don't expect the cost to be that bad. I think a $399 or $449 price is to be expected. And by then the Xbox One S will be at $199 or $250.

Cell phones do it so why not Consoles?
If you don't want to upgrade than don't, no one is forcing you. If they said all XB1 gear and games don't work on the new Xbox go suck it, I can 100% see why everyone would be pissed off, but that is not the case.
If you don't want better graphics, resolution and FPS then don't upgrade, its optional. Its really awesome for the consumer to have a choice in my opinion.
In this day in age with tech progressing so fast you can not expect developers to stay on old hardware for 10 years and keep expecting us to make miracles out of old cars. Just look at all social media on how many make negative comments on the games graphics, the FPS blows and anything else you can think of. Its pretty brutal for developers when you are limited to X hardware and your customer base expects you to make miracles that is physically impossible.
That is how I feel at least and its my opinion. A bunch of my game dev friends feel the same way we are all very happy right now. Not to mention any of my power PC gamer friends that also have consoles know how under powered the consoles are and have been wanting a new refresh for a while now. As we all know the PC is that much ahead Tech wise and is continually progressing at a rapid rate which in terms continually pushes software.
In short I think its very positive and is the correct future for consoles and go as far to say if the industry did not choose this path for consoles and make a big change to the model their existence could of been in jeopardy.
Maybe all this is crazy talk, but that is what I believe. Today marks a historical moment for consoles 2016 never forget, thank you MS and Sony.-
Because my cell phone is like $50 and I already have a pc that I continually upgrade every so many years. I don't need 2, 3, or 4 systems that do that now. I'm not bitter or anything. I just can't afford it. But if this is the path they go, then I'll just bow out now and the ps4 will be the last console I buy. I'd rather save my money for a better PC. The exclusives on consoles aren't worth it. There are so many good/great games out right now that there's no way I'd ever run out of games to play if I miss out on exclusives.

Your smartphone fo sho ain't $50. Someone also missed the marketing for the consoles. Everything works on everything. You don't need to upgrade because the games will still play on the first iterations.
Oh and you're not the target crowd if you continually upgrade a PC. I don't really understand your exasperation. It sure sounds like your mind is made up. Good thing MS is releasing their games on PC as well. These upgraded consoles are for people that don't wanna mess with PC upgrading or with all the extra steps that come with gaming on a PC.

Best thing they showed? I think it was forza horizon 3. That shit looked amazing.
Really disappointed with both the scalebound and ff15 trailers... I know ff15 has better gameplay but that boss was completely bleh. Dodge giant swings for 3 minutes until your buddies show up to beat it for you. Scalebound was just whatever. Still looks pretty rough so maybe they'll fix it up.
The sphere game looked pretty dope. With the robots. Fast paced action and an interesting hook. I'm in. -
