No Man's Sky reportedly delayed
No Man's Sky may not guide us across multiple worlds next month, if this report turns out to be true.
Hello Games’ ambitious space exploration game may need some more time in the cargo bay as it’s being reported the game has been hit with a delay.
The report comes by way of Kotaku, who says two sources have confirmed No Man’s Sky has been delayed. One of its sources is an employee at GameStop who shared new marketing materials today saying the release date for the game has been changed. As a result, GameStop employees have been instructed to use a coming soon sticker to cover up the original June 21st release date.
We’ve reached out to both Sony and Hello Games for comment and will update our story accordingly.

Not really. It's actually a terrible time for any game to come out around that time, especially for one so "reportedly" massive. Most reporters would just be getting back into the groove of things after the marathon that is E3. A delay might be the best thing that could happen, assuming they don't delay too much longer.

I think you underestimate the amount of work that E3 involves, haha, especially when you have to come right out and tackle a game the size of NMS.
It doesn't matter to me anyways. No matter when they release it, I'm sure I'll end up with 100 some odd hours in one week because of... science... ya know. -

iirc, in an interview, the devs regret mentioning MP capabilities at all.
after some time in the NMS subreddit, it seems that other players would see the planets/creatures you've named but won't be able to see your footprints i.e. destruction of terrain, writing your name on a mountainside. even if you were in the same instance as another player (which is highly improbable), there is no chat function.-

I believe they confirmed quite some time ago that if you somehow were in the same place as another player, you would see them, but that in all likelyhood, you would not know they were another player.
So...who knows what that means. Treat this game like it will be exclusively single player, and if some other shit happens at some point, that's cool.

I don't know shit about shit, but it always seemed like they had a very clear idea of the scope of the game from the beginning. Then they started showing it around, the hype meter went off the charts, and people started asking questions and making this game out to be something it never was. With the sudden influx of interest in the game, the developers probably took some extra time to put in new elements in an attempt to make the game more like what people were imagining.

I think a lot of projection definitely happened, but it doesn't seem to me like anything major about the game has changed.
It was always pitched (as best I can tell) as a survival and exploration game, like many that are popular now, albeit in a massive universe and with a focus on your single player journey over any multiplayer stuff. I don't doubt that they've tweaked stuff, but it looks almost exactly the same now as it did when they announced it.
