Xbox 360 production coming to an end

After over a decade, Microsoft will be ceasing the production of new Xbox 360 consoles.

Microsoft has announced it will stop manufacturing new Xbox 360 consoles, which has been in production for over a decade.

According to Microsoft, “the realities of manufacturing a product over a decade old [were] starting to creep up” on the company. Because of this, Microsoft has decided to stop manufacturing new Xbox 360 consoles and will continue to sell existing inventory, although availability will vary by country.

Current Xbox 360 owners will continue to receive Xbox Live services for their consoles, access applications, play online multiplayer and take part in party chat. The Xbox Live servers will also continue to be supported by Microsoft as they’ll remain online and active for the time being.

Microsoft also reminds Xbox One owners they're able to play Xbox 360 games on their console through backwards compatibility. Now that the Xbox 360 is ceasing from being manufactured, it looks like the Xbox One will soon be the ideal place to play Xbox 360 games if your Xbox 360 console breaks down and can't afford to purchase a used one.

If you turn 360 degrees, you'll be facing the same direction.

          Unless you walk backwards.

if you walk backwards you are still facing the same way. just moving in the opposite direction.

Same here. Second only to the N64, and even that's mostly just because of where I was in life at the time the N64 was around and the good memories I have with friends associated with it.

The 360 has been a hell of a console. I don't play on it too much any more, but I do still use it on a daily basis for stuff like streaming.

Got mine still hooked up. Played so many hours of oblivion and skyrim on it, ridiculous amount of hours. Gta 4 too.

I agree, same, it was amazing an console ^^^^ the Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 & the SNES are by far my two favs, even though I was a Sega Genesis fan boy Sega nut job. The Dreamcast is probably third right there with the other two, makes a great triad.

The 360 was such a great console the first few years it was out then my interests kinda changed to the indie/japanese single player games that the PS3 was promoting. I still have great memories of Halo 3 multiplayer and putting hour and hours into that machine for Mass Effect and Street Fighter 4.
