Dark Souls 3 breaks sales records and becomes fastest Bandai Namco title ever
From Software has earned the right to rest at a bonfire for the night.
Bandai Namco has announced Dark Souls 3 has had strong first week sales and breaking records for the most successful day-one launch and has become the fastest selling Bandai Namco title ever.
Unfortunately, Bandai Namco hasn’t disclosed any specific numbers today and instead has decided to gloat without providing and specific proof to these claims. Bandai Namco isn’t the first publisher to do this as Ubisoft was the most recent publisher to say one of its titles achieved record-breaking sales. It took nearly a week for Ubisoft to reveal The Division’s sales numbers, so Dark Souls fans will probably have to wait a few days to learn exactly how well Dark Souls 3 performed.
In the meantime, Bandai Namco has a new trailer for Dark Souls 3 that highlights the game, as well as all of the praise it’s received from various publications.

I wonder how well a sequel's success boosts sales for the previous titles? I have to imagine DS1, DS2, and maybe even Bloodborne sales are spiking a bit in the next few weeks. People who played 3 and decided to go back and try the others or people who can't afford 3 but decide to get 1 or 2.
