Gotta catch 'em all? Go check out some landmarks.
The Pokemon Company has revealed details for Pokemon GO, the franchise's foray into the mobile market.
Pokemon GO will utilize real life settings, like the ability to capture Water-type Pokemon when near lakes and oceans. If you enter an area with a wild Pokemon, your phone will vibrate to let you know it's nearby, and then you'll use the touch screen to throw a Poke Ball. Where does one obtain Poke Balls, you may ask? At PokeStops, naturally, located in spots like historical markers, monuments, and art installations. PokeStops will also house Pokemon Eggs, which hatch after you walk a certain number of steps.
You'll increase your Trainer level as you catch more Pokemon, letting you capture more powerful Pokemon and use a greater variety of items. Evolution is performed by catching the same Pokemon multiple times.
Players will also be able to join one of three teams and take part in Gym battles. Like PokeStops, Gyms are assigned to real-life locations, and teams will have to plan their strategies to hold and defend a Gym from other teams.

Wasn't mentioned here, but there's also the Pokemon GO Plus accessory to tell you when you're near a Pokemon to capture.
