Killer Instinct kicks off Season 3 on March 29 on Xbox One and PC
The wait for Killer Instinct: Season 3 is almost over, as Microsoft and Iron Galaxy have announced a launch date, along with pricing details.
Killer Instinct has been preparing to kick off its Season 3 for several months, but the wait is almost over. Iron Galaxy is eager to get back into the fight and now has a release date ready to go. Killer Instinct: Season 3 will hit the arena on March 29 on both Xbox One and Windows 10.
Season 3 will include eight new fighters, four of which will hit on launch day. Those characters are Kim Wu, Tusk, Arbiter (from Halo), and Rash (from Battletoads). That will bring the total Killer Instinct roster to 26 fighters, across 20 stages. All of those stages are set to receive visual overhauls (partly to help take advantage of the PC's capabilities), with three new stages also debuting over the course of the season. And yes, one of those ('Arena of Judgement') is based on the Sanghelli homeworld from Halo 5: Guardians.
Season 3 characters will be available as part of the latest Combo Breaker Bundle, which will retail for $19.99. The Ultra Bundle will throw in all costumes and run for $29.99. And for those that want the whole enchilada, the Killer Instinct Complete Collection will include all characters and costumes from all three seasons for a full-priced $59.99.
Shacknews recently had a chance to try out a few of these new characters, so be sure to come back for more later today.

Ergh. I can't say this tempts me much if the gameplay is not solid. Great storytelling or not, it's the gameplay videos with the action and time manipulation that got me interested, and those aren't going to be worth much if they feel off when I'm playing it myself.
I work in a building that's right next to Remedy HQ and they use the same lunch place. Seem like a nice bunch of people. I hope it goes well for them.
