Smite coming to PS4 soon; closed beta kicks off in March
The battlegrounds of the Gods just got a little bigger.
Hi-Rez Studios has announced Smite: Battleground of the Gods is headed to the PlayStation 4.
The PlayStation 4 version of Smite is officially entering its Closed Alpha stage on the platform today, and will begin its Closed Beta in early March. Those interested in participating in the Closed Beta can opt in now for a chance to receive a code in the near future. Once it launches, players will be given instant access to all of Smite’s game modes and its five free gods ((Ymir, Thor, Neith, Guan Yu, and Ra) in addition to any gods currently available via free rotation.
Smite players on other platforms may want to check out the PlayStation 4’s Closed Beta as several new skins will be introduced exclusively on the platform. Odin’s “World’s Collide” skin will be given away for free for players who link their PS4 accounts to their Hi-Rez PC accounts. Kulkulkan’s “KuKu4” skin will be given to PlayStation Plus members, while Ymir’s “C4codemon” skin can be received in the PS4’s Founder Pack.
The Founder’s Pack will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store during the Closed Beta period for $29.99. It’ll offer Ymir’s “C4codemon” skin, 400 Gems, an Ares “Soldier of Fortune” skin, and unlocks all present and future gods.
We were smitten by the Xbox One version of Smite when it officially launched back in August 2015. Hopefully Hi-Rez Studios can mimic its gameplay for PlayStation 4 owners.
