Watch Dogs 2 releasing prior to April 2017
We knew it was coming, but are we ready for another Watch Dogs?
While we know there won’t be a new Assassin’s Creed game coming in 2016, Ubisoft has confirmed a new Watch Dogs should be expected within the third quarter of its 2016 - 2017 fiscal year. That means the latest we can expect it to come is April 2017, barring any delays.
According to its plans for its 2016 - 2017 fiscal year, Ubisoft plans on publishing For Honor, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and the next installment of Watch Dogs. In addition to these games, the publisher has an unannounced game also scheduled to release within this timeframe that will be a completely new IP. The new IP is described as “a new high-potential AAA brand with strong digital live services.”
We knew Ubisoft was planning on delivering a new Watch Dogs as it always considered the game to be part of a franchise. Considering it's been over two years since Watch Dogs released, we're looking forward to seeing what Ubisoft has learned from its first outing.
