Rocket League will introduce prototype maps in all-new Rocket Labs playlist
Ready to become an RC guinea pig?
Psyonix has announced Rocket League will be receiving a new playlist called Rocket Labs later this month, which it will use to allow players to be their RC guinea pigs for new maps. When the new playlist is released, three new maps with wildly different layouts are expected to be introduced.
Rocket Labs will allow players to try out prototype arena layouts which will sport a VR-inspired aesthetic. The actual release of these prototype maps will depend on player feedback, and if one is chosen by the community to be worthy of an actual release, Psyonix will apply final artwork assets to them.
There’s no schedule as to when future prototype arena layouts will be made available for players to test out, although Psyonix does say it plans on releasing them as soon as they’re created.

These maps look fun to me. One thing I got tired of with the default map is how frequently the games boiled down to sending the ball around the edges / corners to center it. Even when it's expected and you can easily counter it, it remained the most common tactic that I saw. These should hopefully introduce some new ways to attack the goals.
