The Division open beta coming later this month

We'll all get our chance of catching a serious infection thanks to The Divison having an open beta later this month. Better keep some antibiotics handy.

The Division’s beta may be nearly filled to capacity, but it’ll be going strong for another day thanks to an extension from Ubisoft. If you didn’t get a chance to participate in the beta, you may have yet another chance as Xbox Italy’s Facebook page has apparently leaked its upcoming open beta.

Xbox Italy’s Facebook page published the following image as well as revealing The Division’s open beta will take place between February 16th to February 21st. Just like with the current beta, Xbox One owners will be given 24 hours of exclusive access prior to PC and PlayStation 4 owners.

Ubisoft has yet to announce any additional beta opportunities for The Division, but we’re sure it’ll only be a matter of time until it’s revealed. Considering the issues PC owners had at the start of the beta, as well as it being filled near capacity, an open beta would make sense as it’ll welcome everyone who has any sort of interest in the game. Let’s just hope Ubisoft can support the amount of players an open beta would drive to the title, or else we can be seeing a disaster taking place outside of the streets of New York City.

Interesting. I'd rather them just release the game because, man, I just won't to play it bad.

I put in about four hours worth of work with the PS4 beta and I'm keeping my pre-order with Amazon. I think the game is going to be a winner if they can keep the content interesting. I'm eager for the full release now.

I am confused by this video. It just plays back at hyper speed and there is no way to tell what is going on? At one point I can hear someone say something but then it just goes back to fast speed and their words go at too fast a rate to tell.

the hack he is using makes him move super fast. its so fast that other players cant even really see him. even when standing still it's really hard to see and shoot him.

The radio still plays in real time. Its not the video that's sped up.

Ok just weird because at one point it sounded like his voice was sped up. Either way with videos like this they can pretty easily fix the exploits. Whether they fix all of them in time or there are others, who knows, but I don't subscribe to the rabid cynicism that the game will automatically be full of cheating.

They're tracking key variables client-side, such as your magazine size. Cheaters will always be able to modify those unless Ubisoft moves them to server side. Given their poor pc support in the past I'm not expecting them to make significant changes to the net code at this point

I hope I'm wrong, but if Rockstar couldn't be bothered to fix this in GTAV, I wouldn't expect Ubisoft to fix it here.

It's not an exploit, it's just a speedhack.

A speedhack is just another type of exploit. It is obviously more one that isn't caused by a bug in the game but it is still an exploit caused by a lack of security to protect against it. The question is more about what Rehevkor said, if they don't bother to capture the data on the server then it won't matter and they will have no way of detecting it.

Sure, sorry. I was getting pedantic with the term 'exploit' which I normally just associate with ingame fuckery, like the invis exploit.
