Doom release date pegged for June 2016
That is, according to an accidental listing by a major online retailer.
Bethesda has yet to reveal when its upcoming first-person shooter Doom will launch, but we might be seeing it by summer 2016.
According to an Amazon France listing for Doom, the game has a release date of June 30, 2016. The listing has been updated to a more tentative release date of December 31, 2016, but Twitter user MasterGamer24680 took a screenshot of the previous listing.
This isn’t the first time Amazon France leaked the possible release date of an upcoming game. Just last month, the online retailer leaked the January release date of Tomb Raider for PC, which turned out to be completely accurate.
We’ve reached out to Bethesda to find out more information regarding Doom’s release date window. We’ll be sure to update this story once we hear back from the company.
Doom's closed alpha kicked off this past October, and even though Bethesda asked for participants to not leak any footage from the test, there were still those who couldn't help but show it off.
