Danganronpa Is Returning In 2016 With A Brand New Game and Anime Series

Spike Chunsoft has finally revealed the latest chapter in the long-running Danganronpa series: New Danganronpa V3: Everyone's New Semester of Killing. That's Danganronpa V3 if you're naty.

Set in the "Gifted Inmates Academy," Danganronpa V3 is a brand new departure with a brand new set of characters. Monokuma (or Monobear, if you prefer) is making an encore appearance of course, but the rest of the cast looks pretty bonkers, especially this guy who looks kind of like a puppet. What's going on with that? Oh, wait -- that's Naegi, from the first game, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc! Is he a robot or something now? Trippy.

You can check out the first trailer for the game here, which gives you a brief glimpse of what exactly you'll be doing this time around. A whole lot of the same, it looks like. Danganronpa V3 is slated for release next year on both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

But that's not all! There's a new anime series coming as well to tie in with the previous games. It's called Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy, and it's set to wrap up the events explored in the last two series.
