Three Decades of Classic Gaming: The NES Turns 30
One of the most popular home gaming consoles of all time is celebrating its 30th brithday today.
It may be difficult to believe, but the Nintendo Entertainment System we all know and love is actually 30 years old as of today. It's certainly provided us with 30 years of entertainment, as we still seek out its most memorable releases and goods related to them over and over even in 2015.
Originally released on October 18, 1985, the NES launched with 18 games, including Duck Hunt, Wild Gunman, Ice Climber, Excitebike, and of course Super Mario Bros.
For many, the NES was responsible for getting gamers started on a lifelong journey through the world of video games. It also revolutionized home console gaming as we know it, spawning an impressive amount of titles that are still highly sought-after today.
Whether you're a fan of Nintendo's seminal console or prefer to do your gaming on the PC or mobile devices, so many of the games you enjoy on a daily basis were inspired by the little console that could that you should at least take a moment and think about the revolution the NES sparked.
Happy 30th birthday to the Nintendo Entertainment System!

Even the US cartridges were mostly air, just to make the system seem like more than a toy-
Indeed...and we almost got it as AVS as well.

I like how the final look of the NES is almost there, even if those controllers look awful and even more uncomfortable than the brick that the actual controller turned out to be.

Yeah, funny thing is I didn't know this until I had an argument with a way older roommate in college. He was offended that I was telling him when it came out in 85 when he was actually 7 or 8 at the time and could actually remember when it came out (in Charlotte). So I ended up looking it up and figured out how it actually went down.
