Overwatch beta release date revealed
The Overwatch release date has been revealed. Heroes should expect to take part in the upcoming closed beta later this month.
Blizzard has announced the Overwatch beta will be launching on October 27.
The upcoming closed beta for Overwatch will be comprised of a small number of testers who will be given regular access to the game’s public beta test. When it first launches, the total number of players will be extremely limited, although Blizzard plans on adding more people from time to time to ensure the proper number of heroes are actively engaged.
Blizzard also plans on opening the floodgates during special beta test weekends, which will be activated in order to overwhelm its hardware. The goal during these special events will be to get as many heroes playing as possible, which helps stress test its servers. These special weekends will be brought online occasionally, but for a limited time, and the number of heroes, maps, and gameplay modes will be restricted.
The Overwatch beta will be available only for Windows users who have the Battle.net desktop application installed. Those who are selected will receive an email with instructions when players are ready to deploy.
Those interested in taking part in the Overwatch beta can proceed to sign up here.
