Nintendo taps Tatsumi Kimishima to be new company president
Nintendo Managing Director and former Nintendo of America CEO Tatsumi Kimishima has officially been named as Nintendo's new President and CEO, replacing Satoru Iwata, who tragically passed away earlier this year.
In the wake of Satoru Iwata's tragic passing earlier this year, Nintendo was left with a massive void at the top of the company. Today, a new President of the company has been named. It's Tatsumi Kimishima, former Managing Director of Nintendo.
The information was issued earlier tonight via an official personnel change. Kimishima has served as Managing Director since June 2013, where he has remained until the time of this promotion. Prior to that, he was President of Nintendo of America. He served in that role from January 2002 until May 2006, where he was succeeded by current NOA President Reggie Fils-Aime. He also served as the first president of Pokemon USA Inc. from 2001 to 2002.
