Shovel Knight could be announced as a new character in Super Smash Bros.

Rumors regarding Shovel Knight’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. have been circulating for several months, but NintendoLife claims his reveal is closer than we think. According to multiple sources, Shovel Knight is expected to be announced as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. with Nintendo also announcing an amiibo for Yacht Club Games’ iconic character. That amiibo was previously leaked, although many believed it to be fake.

Adding more flame to this rumor fire is the fact Yacht Club Games has teased a “megaton” reveal this week. “We've heard the cries of bringing more exclusive content to Nintendo platforms,” Yacht Club Games says in a press release. “It might not be quite what you expect… but keep an eye out for another MEGATON announcement soon!”

With PAX Prime going on this week, we can’t help but think that would be the best place to make this announcement. Hopefully not only will Shovel Knight be a playable fighter with his own amiibo, but if he is announced, we hope the wait won’t be too long to play as him.
