Persona 5 release date confirmed for 2015 in North America
Atlus USA has revealed Persona 5 will be launching in North America in 2015.
While many presume Persona 5 would first launch in Japan this year and then be translated for a Western release next year, we’ll be seeing the game in North America by the end of 2015.
In an interview with God is a Geek, Atlus USA PR manager John Hardin confirmed Persona 5 will be getting a Western release this year. Hardin was asked about the possibility of the game releasing in 2016 according to some retailer listings. “That’s just completely wrong,” he responds. “A lot of people assume that this is correct because they published something back in what, 2008? It just isn’t true. I’m working on getting those incorrect listing removed. We are trying to get publishers locked in for our titles in EU and will announce things when they are locked in. We don’t want another Shin Megami Tensei IV or Devil Survivor Overclocked situation. We are very aware of what happens when we make premature announcements for Europe. At least I am. The only thing I can confirm for Persona 5 is 2015.”
Considering just how popular the Persona series has been for Atlus, we aren’t surprised to hear the publisher is attempting to get it out as soon as possible. To say Persona 5 is highly anticipated would be a huge understatement and we’re sure many fans of the series are extremely excited to know the game will be releasing before the end of the year.
