Attack on Titan game being developed by Dynasty Warriors studio
Dynasty Warriors and Attack on Titan? YES. PLEASE.
Koei Tecmo has announced it’s collaborating with Japanese publishing company Kodansha to develop and publish a new game based on Attack on Titan and is expected for Western release in 2016.
The game is being developed by Omega Force, which is the studio best known for the Dynasty Warriors series, Hyrule Warriors, and the Dragon Quest Heroes series. If you’re familiar with the studio’s work, then you could understand why we’d be particularly excited about this announcement.
“I am very happy to reveal that we have started developing a new action game based on the phenomenally successful Attack on Titan,” Koei Tecmo president Hisashi Koinuma said. “Having evolved from a manga/anime series to an internationally recognized brand, we were enchanted by the opportunity to create our own take on humanity’s last stand against these overwhelmingly powerful beings, the Titans. Although there is still a long wait until this game is released in 2016, our studios are already pouring all of their passion and excitement into it and we hope to reveal more information soon! In the meantime, prepare for battle! The Titans are coming.”
The new Attack on Titan game will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in Japan this winter. No word yet from Koei Tecmo what consoles Westerners should expect the game to release on, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it came out on both PlayStation 4 and Vita.
In addition to today’s news, a teaser trailer for the Attack on Titan game has been released. You can check the teaser out for yourself below.
