As Faith prepares to make her next run in February, EA and DICE have revealed the first Mirror's Edge Catalyst gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2015.

Electronic Arts and DICE have been building plenty of hype for Mirror's Edge Catalyst, but there hasn't been a whole lot in terms of gameplay revealed. That all changed at Gamescom 2015, as the first gameplay trailer was revealed during the EA Gamescom Press Briefing.

DICE emphasized Catalyst's goal of allowing Faith to explore as she sees fits, making sure to emphasize that she uses her own natural abilities to defeat enemies. There are definitely no firearms here. Catalyst follows Faith's early days, as revealed by an early mission playthrough that was revealed to the captive Gamescom audience. That entire clip can be seen below.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on February 23.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Looks great. 60fps too. Are those floaty yellow things like Crackdown's agility orbs?

Looked really good basically like 1 but more detailed, the only thing I disliked was the voice of the lead was pretty bad I hope they fix that or you can turn her off.

Hmm I swear in 1 the voice over was really awesome what happened, EA has the $ it should be ACE?

Yeah, this trailer just made me realize how good the voice acting was in the first one.

But otherwise, holy shit, this is gorgeous. I really hope it's designed around discovery, sort of like in Metroid where you're wandering around not sure where to go or how to navigate, and eventually it clicks

I see, they made combat relevant. Should have been a no brainer in part one but it eluded them.
Somehow they got the nausea factor down. Well see how this pans out. Its up against stiff competition this season.

        it looks really good

but this isnt a game i would be able to play

the movements look too real, i'm used to quake like jumps

this one seems like she actually struggles on the jumps and panics a little

playing this seems like a stressful experience.
