EA confirms new Battlefield is coming in 2016
Did you really think EA wouldn't have a new shooter next year?
EA has confirmed a new Battlefield game will be released in 2016.
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed today’s news during a recent investor call where he was asked about future key titles. “"What we've said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles," he said. "This year it's Star Wars: Battlefront. Next year, it's another Battlefield title."
Star Wars: Battlefront is releasing on November 17 with its first free piece of downloadable content, Battle of Jakku releasing just a few weeks later. Considering we can expect several months of regular content updates to Star Wars: Battlefront, we wouldn’t be surprised if EA has a late 2016 release planned for the new Battlefield game. Considering how different an experience both Battlefront and Battlefield Hardline offered, we're sure fans of the series will be happy to see it return to its military-shooter roots.

The later parts of the war could make for interesting MP gameplay. By 1917/1918 a lot of the tactics used in WWII had been developed, combined arms combat and whatnot was finally coming to the fore. Artillery had been drastically streamlined and made more effective. Tanks had started seeing real combat, and even some aerial combat. I think that could make for a great setting if handled properly.

I played it. It was both fun and weird. Everyone ran forward. Loaded up. Shot. Missed. Then either bayonet rushed or tried to hide for reloading.
If I remember, reloading was the biggest problem since the guns were so inaccurate. But, you may be right. Fun could be had. Have you tried that Verdun game?

So the time between BC2 and BF3 was actually five months shorter then the time between BF3 and BF4. That's not how I remember it at all. In fact, I'm having a real hard time accepting the idea that BF3 is a 2011 game, less then three months away from it's fourth birthday. There simply no way that much time has passed.
The only logical explanation is that someone is selectively erasing my memory.

Nice! I really want to see how this looks and what they are going to bring to the table, also I wonder if Frostbite 4 is ready aka DX12!
You know what I really want... I would love a Battlefield game that was like Farcry and open world and a SP and drop in Co Op game that be Ace
It be cool if they separated the SP and MP and had two teams working on both so they be even better. -
