The Legend of Zelda for Wii U 'TBD' release date hints at delay beyond 2016
Nintendo has revealed the Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda now has a TBD release date, meaning it could very well miss its 2016 release.
Nintendo has released its quarterly financial earnings report, with a segment of that very report highlighting some titles it expects to be released in 2015 and 2016. Games like Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and Genei Ibun Roku #FE (which was previously known as Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem) are listed as 2016 released, but one highly-anticipated game, The Legend of Zelda on WIi U, is currently listed as TBD (To Be Determined).
The Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda was delayed beyond a 2015 release earlier this year, and today’s news doesn’t give us much hope for a 2016 release. And with the Nintendo NX expected to be unveiled some time in the near future, we question if the game would even make its debut on the Wii U as Nintendo has been known to move a game from one platform to a new one if its development time goes over its expectations.
Let's just hope Nintendo is holding the release date window of The Legend of Zelda close to its chest or else we could be in for a long wait.
