Deep Silver pulls developer Yager from Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2's development is apparently still not going the way publisher Deep Silver has hoped, so developer Yager has been taken off the project.
There's been an interesting development in regards to Dead Island 2's ongoing development. It now appears that publisher Deep Silver and developer Yager have gone their separate ways, with the developer now apparently off the project.
"With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve," reads the official publisher statement. "After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner Yager."
This comes less than three months after Deep Silver delayed the game until 2016. The publisher statement at the time did not seem particularly positive, alluding to goals that were not met and putting the onus on Yager to complete the project.
Deep Silver is promising to continue "working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life" and is promising information at a later date. Whether that plan includes passing off the game to an entirely new developer or one of the dev studios currently under the Deep Silver umbrella remains to be seen.

Right, I meant the original Dead Island guys made Dying Light because they couldn't make Dead Island 2. I thought it was a rights issue initially but apparently they dumped Deep Silver instead - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dying_Light#Development

Isn't going to happen, Techland split from Deep silver and the Dead island franchise, and im sure they would have reasons for that.
So it would be a totally dumb move after they made the great game Dying light is, to go and make a game for the "competition". Although i doubt the next Dead island game would have any chance of competing with Dying light (or a possible sequel). That is, if they even manage to ship the Dead island 2 game. -
They weren't offered fair terms so they left and made Dying Light for WB instead. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-11-why-isnt-dead-island-1-developer-techland-making-the-sequel
