The Witcher 3 getting 'very large update' across PC, Xbox One, and PS4 this week
CD Projekt Red has revealed its 1.07 patch is nearly ready and detailed what we can expect from it when it launches this week.
CD Projekt Red has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s upcoming patch 1.07 will be releasing later this week and it’s being described as a “very large update.”
Patch 1.07 will introduce some key changes, including a new, alternative movement response mode for Geralt that’s completely optional to implement, a player stash for storing items that’s marked on the player’s map, and performance enhancements that improve FX optimization, scenes, and general gameplay.
Here’s the list of key changes CD Projekt Red has revealed for The Witcher 3:
- A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
- A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.
- Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
- Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the Inventory and books that have already been read are properly grayed out.
- Multiple sorting options are now available in the Inventory.
- Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
- Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
- A few performance enhancements, including the optimization of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
- Various improvements to horse behavior.
The full change list for patch 1.07 will be coming later this week, which we assume will be released very close to when the patch becomes available. Best of all, this week’s patch is coming to all platforms, although we hope they all release at the same time as the Xbox One version has been lagging compared to the PlayStation 4 and PC versions.

Argh! Thanks. I do appreciate some convenience and they sound like good changes even though I haven't touched the game for more than a few minutes.
My aggravation is from waiting for more than two weeks for some real free time (had relatives visiting and they just left yesterday), and now that I have all the opportunity to dive into The Wild Hunt, I have to force myself not to for this neato update.
And part of me feels like if I wait any longer I'll never play it.-
Seriously, even if it was only a player stash being added I would still recommend waiting. I wanted one the very second I started playing the game. I mean, I guess you could always start it now and by the time the patch is out will be right around when you're really hurting for a player stash, but at this point it just seems better to wait.

Oh for sure; and W3 is my #1 most wanted game this gen. I ended up playing Bloodborne (my first Souls game) recently so I intentionally put off W3 bcs I was worried the combat could ruin the game for me.
But even that's a good example: I didn't play Bloodborne until after that patch that cut the load times from 40+ seconds to 15 or 20 or whatever it is.

The game isn't all that long. The first time through I fucked up some stuff, said hell with it, and just powered my way through the main quest.
The second time through took longer but still way way less time than the majority of you guys seem to be taking, and that was with every side quest and all of the armorsmith/Weaponsmith quests done, and the best Witcher gear crafted and in use.
