Diablo 3 patch 2.3.0 includes new zone, new cube, and more
Blizzard is offering quite the selection of improvements to Diablo 3 in patch 2.3.0, so let's find out what we can all expect when it eventually becomes available.
Blizzard has announced Diablo 3’s patch 2.3.0 will soon be available to check out on its Public Test Realm (PTR), and before it flips the switch, it’s announcing what will be available to check out.
Patch 2.3.0 will feature a new zone called Ruins of Sescheron, which is described as a frozen wasteland that’s home to new enemies and environmental hazards. Players will be able to unearth new mysteries from Barbarians’ lore while also discovering new points of interest, including the lost Tomb of King Kanai and his ultimate treasure, Kanai’s Cube.
Yes - Diablo 2’s Horadric Cube is making a return, although it's being called Kanai's Cube in Diablo 3. This ancient relic will allow players the ability to break down Legendary items and equip their special effects as a passive skill, convert crafting materials from one type to another, and more.
Diablo 3’s upcoming patch 2.3.0 also includes updates to its crafting system and Adventure mode as well as adding new difficulty levels, new Legendary and set items, the new Season Journey feature, and some changes to the combat system. Blizzard has yet to announce when patch 2.3.0 will go live on PTR, although they say it’s release is “right around the corner.” To get a full rundown of what to expect, check out Blizzard's full patch preview.
